Wild Cattle Creek Estate Vintage & Tasting Notes

Our wines are crafted in the Upper Yarra Valley from fruit picked by hand in our own estate vineyards.  We pride ourselves on producing quality fruit for our premium wines. The cool climate and fertile soil of the Upper Yarra area combined with excellent vine management and growing techniques result in a quality wine for all occasions.

Each of the wines listed below are available for tasting at our Cellar Door. We would love the opportunity to take you through a relaxed, tutored wine tasting here at Wild Cattle Creek Estate

Sparkling Chardonnay/Pinot Noir 2013

A classic blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Bottle maturation has produced a fresh, creamy wine with delicate brioche flavours. The palate is full, clean, crisp and dry finish. Ideal as an aperitif or a celebratory wine.

Viognier 2012

Pale straw in appearance. Ripe apricot and stone fruit aromas with hints of honey and toasted nuts. Fleshy, textured palate balanced with lemon-y citrus acidity.

Chicken and fish, spicy stir-fries

Sauvignon Blanc 2016

A fresh and vibrant wine with a lovely mix of grapefruit, lychee and passion fruit on the nose. The palate has a ripe juicy core of guava and citrus flavours, layered with lemongrass and fresh basil.

Pinot Gris 2016

A rich and textured wine with bright acid and intense mouth feel. Subtle aromas of ripe peach, apple and musk are balanced with flavours of citrus, custard apple and spice.

Charolais Blanc 2014

A delicious and unique cool climate field blend Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay & Viognier.
The wine displays tropical fruit aromatics whilst the palate is interwoven with textured fruit and crunchy juicy acidity.

Chardonnay 2013

A deliciously vibrant wine with aromas of white peach and jasmine flower.  The palate is long and richwith intense stone fruit and citrus flavours layered with French Oak.  A beautifully balanced wine that displays great fruit purity and the exceptional natural acidity leads to a powerful and crisp finish.

Darker flesh fish, chicken, pork, salmon, veal, veg quiche

Rose 2009

Merlot grapes with aromas of rose water and turkish delight. The palate exhibits hints of cream and lashings of maraschino cherries with a focused dry finish.

 Pinot Noir 2013

An intense and complex aromatic wine with great depth of character, bursting with red and dark fruits the wine is fine and complex with a long juicy palate.

Dark flesh fish, duck, rabbit, kangaroo, venison, quail, turkey, veal.

Merlot 2010

Restrained nose of plum and cherries with background notes of spice and perfume. Palate is finely balanced with a seductive mesh of plush dark fruits, spice and a fine bed of dusty tannin.

Shiraz 2015

A vibrant wine with an aromatic raspberry lift over spicy black current, blood plum and
Complemented with hints of allspice. The palate is juicy, laced with sweet black fruit with hints of clove and cinnamon

Beef, lamb, venison

Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

An intense crimson colour with great depth, the wine offers a complex array of fruit aromas of cassis and violets supported with oak influence of cigar box and spice. On the palate, lightly packed cassis and spice flavours are complemented by a long and fine tannin structure.

Moscato Frizzante 2013

Pale pink in colour with a delicate appearance. Fresh and vibrant with lifted aromas of rose petal and white peach. Intense flavors of musk spice and boiled sweets lead into a textured palate.
